MOXROX Virtual Environment
Executive Summary
What is MOXROX - Container defined networking
With the world of networking ever changing, look to be on the cutting edge. MOXROX is designed around a container based system that provides lower overheads and higher efficiency than standard Hypervisor platforms. As the containers rest on top of a single linux instance the extra overhead a VM requires is negated. This allows you to gain a higher return on investment resulting in better utilisation.Why Containers?
Containers are incredibly fast to initialise as the kernel is already running. Along with lower overheads, ability to over provision and advantages in security and speed, container based computing are ideal for next gen workloads. The MOXROX Virtual Environment has over 90 predefined application templates and 7 different linux operating systems provides the base for building your environment quickly.What is a MOXROX Cloud?
The MOXROX Cloud allows you to build a flexible solution to provide a platform to run your business or enterprise. Either in a public or private deployment scaling the solution is easy. The environment is optimised for containers and security which provides the solution to build your computing environment quickly.MOXROX Virtual Environment Advantages;
- Reanimate backups into new servers or clones easily
- Containers on shared storage can easily move to a new node with virtually no downtime
- Html5 based web console provides instant shell access to the physical server, containers and KVM's
- Live Migration - able to move work loads seamlessly between servers
- Multiple Backend Storage options
- Ability to run containers and KVM/Virtual Machines simulatenously
Layer 3 Focus
The defining characteristic of MOXROX networking architecture is the focus on Layer 3 protocols. Developed and extended specifically to take advantage of network layer protocols to increase efficiency and reduce load, MOXROX could be the perfect orchestration for your cloud solution. Each container utilises a dedicated address which results in increased security and allows the server/container to run standard linux IP filters. This allows the container to appear as a dedicated server.Layer 2 capabilities
MOXROX also allows you all the capabilities of your current orchestration platform, with Layer 2 boot and protocols still supported.Advanced Security
MOXROX provides ease of mind for your security team. Taking advantage of the container based system MOXROX containers will never have direct hardware access. This means applications running in containers are restricted and isolated. Inside a container the network address can not be changed. Since the container is a special instance of the server no kernel can be installed or used inside the container. However the container runs as a full instance just like a dedicate linux server, just restricted. This is good for allocating resources to teams, staff or for development purposes.Ease of use
Straight forward and efficient to set up using MOXROX specially designed web platform. With over 90 predefined application templates setup can be as quick or as customizable as you wish. There is also over 7 different linux operating systems.To visit the Education Page click here.
