The purpose of this document is to describe the physical dimensions and location requirements of Open Rack v1-2 AKA “Rackgo X” 
The intended audience includes: consulting engineers, cloud service providers, enterprise IT including facilities managers, Co-Lo operators and managed service providers planning to locate Open Rack v1-2 in datacenters. 

Open Units (OU) are used instead on Rack Units in Open Rack v1 and v2.

About Open Rack v1 and V2 AKA “Rackgo X”

Open Rack v1-2 AKA Rackgo X is an open rack solution contributed by Facebook to the Open Compute Project (OCP www.opencompute.org) Designed for low CAPEX and OPEX with simplicity , energy and cooling efficiency, high density, serviceability, scalability and manageability, Rackgo X is ideally suited for cloud service providers and large enterprises looking for the highest levels of efficiencies.

To help customers get started with the Open Rack solution, Hyperscalers with QCT strictly via a dedicated channel to market, offer three (3) optimised rack architectures in both versions to suit a varying type of workloads needs.

Locating Open Rack v1 and v2

Open Rack v1-2 complete with facilities and IT systems: Chassis, power shelf and PSU, battery backup system, bus bar distribution along with server, storage, converged, GPU and networks, offers our community, for the first time, a means of standardising how we deliver and operate data centres.

The complete nature of Open Rack enables datacentre operators to locate and re-locate (migrate) capacity as needed – on demand at a fraction of historical overheads.
