QCT (Quanta Cloud Technology) introduces QCT Cloud–in-a-Box (QCB), a converged private cloud solution powered by Microsoft cloud technologies. Starting from customers’ point of view, QCB is pre-validated, performance benchmarked, and comes pre-installed with software and encompassed storage, computing, and networking resources the verified system architecture reduces cost and time-consuming setup procedures to provide quick installation, lower operating costs, and increases return on investment (ROI) for enterprises.

Highly integrated solution | Provide high performance-cost ratio

Enterprises often face high storage costs and extensive maintenance fees when adopting private clouds. QCB incorporates high-performance clustered storage server MESOS CB220* with RDMA technology and applies Microsoft defined storage solution-Storage Spaces optimizing SSD to HDD ratio to provide a robust and high-performance storage system with 50% decrease on costs. A high density 2U server acts as the computing node, which increases virtual machine density. In comparison to normal practice, it required four RU servers to achieve the same specifications. The high density 2U server effectively reduces the unit cost of each virtual machine as well as optimizes rack-space utilization.

Modular architecture | Flexible expansion on resources

Traditional private cloud architecture uses 1U or 2U servers with expensive storage equipment, which is also not easily scalable. QCB's modular expansion conceptual design uses a cluster server as the management node with hardware and storage spaces guarantee highly available operation. The basic unit starts from 1/6 of a standard 42U cabinet and provides up to 300VMs**. Resource expansion comes with 2U, serving as the base unit for computing, and JBOD for storage capacity, and to a maximum of 1500+VMs.
